Suppose the diameter of a circle is 4 What is its circumference?

OpenStudy (dan815):

pi*the diameter is the circumference

OpenStudy (igreen):

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

OpenStudy (igreen):

Do they want you to approximate pi? @patricks_girl2001

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(\sf C = \pi d\) Where 'd' is the diameter.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't know thats why I'm confused @iGreen

OpenStudy (igreen):

Okay, do you have options?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.14 * 4???? @iGreen

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok very easy! pi*the diameter is the circumference, diameter = 4. so x the = 12.57 would be the circumfence. The area of a circle is D = π x r x r where r = radious of the circle So 4π = π x r x r 4 = r x r r = 3 Circumference of a circle is C = π x D where D is Diameter of the circle C = π x 2 x r = π x 2 x 3 = 12.57π Answer Hope this helps! If you have anymore tag me on them! Have a nice day. (12.57 Is your answer)

OpenStudy (igreen):

Just multiply that.

OpenStudy (igreen):

@DatChinookGuy Nice job, but we need the asker's participation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't get this i press hint and i got the same answer ad u guys @iGreen and @DatChinookGuy but it gave me 4?!

OpenStudy (igreen):

It gave you \(\sf 4 \pi\), not \(\sf 4\).

OpenStudy (igreen):

Which is the exact measurement of the circumference.
