I need help :(

OpenStudy (igreen):

What's your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just a second, I had to attach a file

OpenStudy (igreen):

Set up a proportion. \(\sf \dfrac{54}{729} = \dfrac{18}{x}\) Cross multiply. 54 * x = ? 729 * 18 = ?

OpenStudy (igreen):

54 is the side length of the bigger triangle, and 729 is the area of the bigger triangle. 18 is the side length of the smaller triangle, and 'x' represents the area of the smaller triangle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

729 * 18 = 13122.... And then 54 * x is what I still need to find.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (igreen):

54 * x is the same as 54x

OpenStudy (igreen):

So we have: \(\sf 13122 = 54x\) Divide 54 to both sides.

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

but that isnt an answer choice @iGreen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah..

OpenStudy (igreen):

Oh, hold on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I only have 10.5cm² 31.5 cm² 67 cm² 81 cm²

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

okay so first we need to find the similarity ratio between the sides

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

so 18/54 = ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18 to 54 = 1 : 3

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

yes so now we convert dimensions since we are going from side length to area which are two different dimensions so we square (1/3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay
