Kyle made a scale drawing of a neighborhood park. He used the scale 7 inches = 1 yard. What scale factor does the drawing use? Simplify your answer and write it as a fraction.

I'm not sure, but it sounds like they want you to convert inches to yards, is that the idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If so, first you'd convert both to feet. 7 inches is the same as 7/12 of a foot. 1 yard is 3 feet. Then, you want to make the smaller one into 1 I believe. So you'd multiply by 12/7 on both sides to get 1:36/7 or 1:5.14 ish. Does that sound sort of right?

yeah i understand i just wasn't sure what to do :D thank you!!
