if triangle ABC has vertices A(0,2), B(-3,2), and C(-2,0), graph the triangle and its rotation 180 degrees counterclockwise about the origin.
how would i figure out the points if they are rotated 180 degrees counterclockwise..dont graph for me just help me figure out the points.

there is an easy way and a hard way, which do you prefer(easy way may be a little more difficult to understand)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i know the answer(s)

rotation will be like the last Q u did...but it is 180 degree this time around.
1st step is to graph the triangle out first thou...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay i graphed the triangle on my paper
OpenStudy (anonymous):
let me post a pic hold on
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@jacobrocket173 explain it whatever will be easier to understand lol

since you gotta rotate around the origin point A and point C will switch places and point B will flipped over the y axis
OpenStudy (anonymous):
since point A and point C are on the y axis and the same distance from the origin they will just switch places
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x" not y"
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay and B will become (3,-2) ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yup

okay and will the other two be (2,0) and (0,-2) ?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yah but point C will be where point A originally was and vice versa
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay let me try that.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
plus you put point A on the graph wrong
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i know i realized that lol

basically flip it over both the x and y axis to get your new points for questions like this
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but flip them evenly(like from (2,3) to (-2,3), etc.)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay let me post what i have.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay

flip point A and point B(on the second triangle you drawn)over the x axis
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i just know realized that in both of our pics we both have the peace sign
OpenStudy (anonymous):
hahaha same here. okay let me try this again.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay
