OpenStudy (dtan5457):

Describe the pattern, write the next term, and write a rule for the nth term. -4,8,-12,16

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

So these are just multiples of 4, which sign changes. next term is -20, how do I write the rule, though?

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

@Nnesha @freckles

OpenStudy (freckles):

great and it is alternating

OpenStudy (freckles):

so you know if we had 4,8,12,16,... the n-term would be given by 4n correct?

OpenStudy (freckles):

now if you had -1,1,-1,1,-1,... then the n-term would be given by (-1)^n

OpenStudy (dtan5457):

you would use the arithmetic sequence formula right?

OpenStudy (freckles):

see if you can put this together
