OpenStudy (shelld93):

A car is moving with a positive acceleration. Which of the following accurately depicts the direction of its velocity? The direction cannot be determined The velocity is positive The velocity is zero The velocity is negative I want to say positive but im not 100% sure..

OpenStudy (egenriether):

Well the velocity could be in one direction but the acceleration in another. Consider slowing down in a car... you're accelerating backward (decelerating) but the car is still moving forward. In this example if the car was going in reverse and then the driver pressed the brakes the acceleration would be in the forward direction but the car would be moving in the negative direction. I'd go with the first choice.

OpenStudy (shelld93):

Makes sense. Thank you.
