Trig question: UPDATED. (basically a ship sunk and it has gold, and this guy who wants the gold wants to avoid Blackbeard so he's gonna send out a decoy ship. Blackbeard captures "you" to figure out which ship is really going after the gold) http://prntscr.com/6vkq1l I got the same results for both ships so I can't figure out which one is the real one :\
Well, more like the "Goldfish" section isn't clear on what the angle of descent is for their anchor.
Confirmed answers: Goldrush a) 37.66 km b) 39 km c) ? [ got 2.18 degrees] Goldfish a) 45.01 km b) 1.71 km c) 45.04 km
Goldfish c) is actually not confirmed, sorry
@ganeshie8 @amistre64 @Luigi0210 @thomaster I have to go but I really would like this question answered
Sorry and thank you :c
ok... so this Is how I handled the goldfish... |dw:1430216508721:dw| I got the distance to port as 51.03 km.
it really depends on the interpretation of turning 80 degrees to the north... next its |dw:1430216670964:dw| fidn x...
then for the last part, you can use pythagoras... but I got 51.07... which makes sense as the triangle formed by the shore, boat and diver is almost isosceles... hope it helps

Doesn't 80° to the north mean 180°-80° =100° oo.?
O.o
Nvm, I asked and figured out the answer from external information (that I hadn't posted). Thanks for trying though
