Will give medal! All I wan to know is how to set it up. Don't give me the answer! Toni bought an old bike for $50. She fixed it up and sold it for $80. What percent of the the value was Toni's price?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@GhostVortex can you help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Umm.. :/ sorry but i dont know how to set that up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's fine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you anyway

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Donblue22 can you help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen can you help? I was told to ask you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@phi can you help me set this up?

OpenStudy (igreen):

What's 80 - 50?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's 30

OpenStudy (igreen):

I think it's asking what percentage is the price he rose..

OpenStudy (phi):

I could if I knew what they meant by value. iGreen thinks it means profit. that sounds good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i put that and i got the answer wrong several times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean i can try again though

OpenStudy (phi):

what number did you put in ?

OpenStudy (igreen):

No, 30 isn't the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its asking for the percent it rose

OpenStudy (igreen):

Divide 30 to the price she sold it for..

OpenStudy (igreen):

he*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get 2.7 if i round up

OpenStudy (igreen):

You divided the wrong way. It's 30 / 80 not 80 / 30.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i know ___% of 50 is 80. and that ___% * 50 = 80

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i don't know how to find the percent.

OpenStudy (phi):

I am *guessing* they want 80/50 as a percent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe that's what they are asking

OpenStudy (igreen):

This question is poorly written..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it is

OpenStudy (phi):

yes, I don't like questions where they do not define their terms.

OpenStudy (igreen):

@amistre64

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, it's freaking 160. I just found a math teacher.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Oh, the answer? @phi was right then.

OpenStudy (phi):

so it was 8/5 *100

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you both for the help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm closing the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you for the help.
