OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

do you know what an undefined slope looks like ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

heck no

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

|dw:1430230039000:dw| Basically, a VERTICAL line has an undefined slope . So can you see all the lines i've drawn? :) Each one has an undefined slope.

Okays

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

So now if you look at your question. It wants you to write an equation with an undefined slope, and so it passes through the point ( -2, 4). So what would the x-value be in the point ( -2 , 4) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-2

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

correct ^_^. So we know x = -2 Now can you sketch that for me? Remember : since the slope is undefined, it is a vertical line, like the ones i drew above. So what would your line look like?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhhhh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hang on lol havin difficulties haha

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

Hint: underfined slope = vertical line. cuts through the point ( -2 ,4 ) Therefore since x = -2..this means it is a vertical line that cuts through the x-axis at -2 :)
