Help......again. Find the area of the regular polygon and simply it to simplest radical form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Daniel14 do you think you know this?

OpenStudy (daniel14):

give me a min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Kk thank youu

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You got any ideas? @geerky42 I hate to bother you again but these questions frazzle my mind

geerky42 (geerky42):

I have few ideas, but I don't know what you should know. Were you given some sort of formula for area of regular polygon?

geerky42 (geerky42):

What did teacher teach recently?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have, like, no idea. I was sick yesterday

geerky42 (geerky42):

Hmm ok, I'm going to use angles. This is probably going to confuse you, but we go with it anyway...|dw:1430245601550:dw| So if you split regular hexagon into 6 equal piece like this:|dw:1430245704428:dw| Then those 6 pieces are all equilateral triangle, right? Because all angles are 60 degree. Now focus on one equilateral triangle. We know that height is 9 in. |dw:1430245916513:dw| On 30 60 90 triangle we have height of 9 in, so what should that "?" be? Do you know?
