@irishboy123 During a softball game, a shortstop catches a ground ball. The action force is the ball pushing on the glove. What is the reaction force? A. the ground pushing on the ball B. the fielder pushing on the ball C. the glove pushing on the ball D. the ball pushing on the ground

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@IrishBoy123 can you help me

@aaronq

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@FEARLESS_JOCEY do you think you can help me

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the reaction force is equal and OPPOSITE to the action force so.. if the action is the ball on th eglove - then what is the OPPOSITE force?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have no idea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which one do you think it is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um i think that it is B but not sure

OpenStudy (mrnood):

if you have NO idea then there is no point in having the answer to this question. Go back to your text book or research here on the web, read about forces and reactions until you have SOME idea, then come back to this question with a reason why you think it is a particular answer. THEN someone may be able to help you or to confirm that you have understood it. My reply above this one is about as big a clue as you can get, but if you still have no idea then you need to study a little more before you can attempt this.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

Can you explain WHY you think it is B ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oooppps wrong answer i ment C because like you said before the ball is being pushed against the glove

OpenStudy (mrnood):

OK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be c then or no

OpenStudy (mrnood):

is glove pushing against ball OPPOSITE to ball pushing against glove?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

um i think so

OpenStudy (mrnood):

then go with C if you think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i took the test
