OpenStudy (anonymous):
The number of inmates younger than 18 held in the state prison has decreased approximately linearly from 3147 inmates in 2001 to 2266 inmates in 2005. Let n be the number of inmates younger than 18 held in state prisons at t years since 2000. Find an equation of a linear model to describe the data and then use the equation to determine in what year there would be less than 1000 inmates in state prison younger than 18.
