OpenStudy (mrnood):

if x is 2 what is x^2? then what is 2 x x^2 (not (2x)^2) then add 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I did 2 * 2 which is 4 then 4 * 4 which is 16 add 3 and it's 19.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why did you do 4 * 4? it should of been 2 squared then times 2 then add three

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because x = 2 so 2 * 2 = 4 4 squared is 4* 4 = 16

OpenStudy (mrnood):

\[2x ^{2}+3 = (2 \times x \times x ) +3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it (2x)^2 or 2x^2 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then 11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it was (2x)^2 then you would be right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I understand that now thanks
