PLEASE HELP ME
@dumbcow @@SyedMohammed98 @shiraz14 @rvc
you have a question?
YES THANK YOU
Find the surface area of the cylinder to the nearest whole number. The height is 14 in and base is 13 in
a. 7,433 b. 2,205 c. 1,144 d. 1,062
use formula for surface area of cylinder---> area of 2 bases + lateral area \[A = 2 \pi r^2 + 2 \pi r h\]
my calculator on my computer doesnt work
Or just use google, it has a built-in calculator
thanks!
:)
12,821?
@dumbcow
no thats too big, notice its not one of your options either did you use 13 for radius and 14 for height ?
yeah idk what happened
\[A = 2 \pi (13)^2 + 2 \pi (13) (14)\]
1,306
hmm are you typing exactly that into the calculator? http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=2%CF%80%2813%29%5E2%2B2%CF%80%2813%29%2814%29
oh so its b!
yeah now i just gave away the answer .... how were you getting those other numbers? do you know what you were doing wrong?
A = 2 pi r h + 2 pi r^2 A = 2 pi * 13 * 14 + 2 pi * 13^2 A = 364 pi + 338 pi A = 702 pi
i basically copy and pasted what you gave me and put it into the calculator
:|
When you put it in the calculator make sure you separate the two parts. So do.. 2 pi * 13 * 14 Then do 2 pi * 13^2 And add them together
ooooh thank you! ive never used online calculators before so i didnt know how to put it in
