what is the surface area of a conical grain storage tank that has a height of 37 meters and a diameter or 16 meters round the answer to the nearest square meter

Okay let's take out all the stupid stuff from the question. What is the surface area of a cone with the height of 37 and a diameter of 16? https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=surface+area+of+a+cone So we're using that equation. Diamond is 2 times the radius so our diameter is 8 That's the "r" in the equation Our height is the "h"

\[\pi * 8 * (8+ \sqrt{37^2 + 8^2}\]

No that wouldn't be the answer I think you're doing the calculations wrong. It's 8pi times the ENTIRE thing after it so you have to solve for that part first.

OpenStudy (mrnood):

And you are asked to round to the nearest sq m

Make sure you do the part in the radical first, so 37^2 plus 8^2 then the answer of that, square it. Then add that to 8. Then multiply that by 8pi. And yeah make sure you round it and add back the square m
