The slope of a line is 1/3. What is the slope of a line perpendicular to this line?

rishavraj (rishavraj):

if two lines with slope m1 and m2 are perpendicular ...it means m1*m2 = -1

rishavraj (rishavraj):

\[m_1\times m_2 = -1 \]

OpenStudy (butterflydreamer):

hint.. when you multiply the slope of line 1 (m1) and the slope of line 2 (m2) it must equal to -1. |dw:1430313346167:dw|
