During nuclear fusion, when a hydrogen atom with 1 proton is fused with a nitrogen atom with 7 protons, the resulting atom is: A a carbon atom with 6 protons B a nitrogen atom with 7 protons C an oxygen atom with 8 protons D hydrogen and nitrogen can't combine during nuclear fusion Any help/explanation would help

H atom (1 proton) + N atom (7 protons) = atom with 8 protons if you look on the periodic table, you'll see that the element with 8 protons is oxygen Note: # of protons = atomic number
