Help! Will fan and Medal Design an Experiment In this assessment, you will be designing your own experiment to test the effectiveness of a treatment. You will not be doing the experiment, just designing it. Think of something that interests you. What cause and effect relationship would you like to show? Be creative here! Feel free to contact your instructor if you have questions about any step of the process.

Design an Experiment In this assessment, you will be designing your own experiment to test the effectiveness of a treatment. You will not be doing the experiment, just designing it. Think of something that interests you. What cause and effect relationship would you like to show? Be creative here! Feel free to contact your instructor if you have questions about any step of the process. As you design your study, use the following format. Part 1. Introduction. Develop your research question. What is it that you want to know? A good research question will tell the reader exactly what your study is about and help you maintain your focus throughout the research process. Part 2. Methodology. What will be the target population? How will you get your sample? How will the control and treatment groups be formed? What treatment will be applied? What statistics will you collect? Part 3. Discussion. What conclusions would you be able to draw from the data?

All i really need is a good topic i think i can do the rest

@nincompoop

@amistre64

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

What are some topics that interest you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I like things like video games and computers. but i dont know how to form a control group with things like that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DDCamp

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Just a general idea: How does time spent playing video games impact students' grades? If that were the research question, what would you have to do as the controls?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find kids who dont play video games and use their current grade as the control

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Good! How many "treatment groups" should you have? What would be the differences between them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think one or two treatment groups are good. and i should apply action games to one and puzzle games to the other

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DDCamp

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

OK, that makes sense. Also, make sure you control the amount of time they play, and the amount of time they spend studying.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK thanks a bunch

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry to bother you again @DDCamp but i need to what would be some good reseach questions

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

I'm not 100% positive, but I think the research question would be "How does playing video games effect student performance?"
