What did the Hebrews call the leader chosen by God to establish an all-powerful kingdom of God on Earth? A. Messiah B. Zealot C. apostle D. Pharisee @tkhunny

OpenStudy (anonymous):

messiah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mashiach (English: messiah). According to Jewish belief, the messiah hasn't yet come.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

The question contains fallacies that need to be repaired prior to determining an answer. The Jews have been waiting for Messiah, the Son of God, to come and establish the Kingdom of God on the Earth. If He is just a "leader", then this belief is of no consequence. If the kingdom is just "all-powerful", then this belief is oppressive and unfortunate. However, if this Messiah truly is the Son of God, and He truly establishes God's Kingdom on the Earth, we would do well to heed His counsel.

The answer is messiah. jews do not believe jesus was the messiah which seperates judaism and christianity.

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

The correct answer, as far as the exam is concerned, is most likely "A: Messiah". The others are not very close or reasonable. However, the question SHOULD leg go of its biases and be reworded significantly.

B. Zealot
