OpenStudy (sharpsage):

If I was using a Slinky, would waves travel to the other end faster if the slinky was stretched out or closer together?

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

I think that transverse waves would go faster (like waves on a string), but that longitudinal waves would travel at the same celerity.

OpenStudy (sharpsage):

So you think with transverse waves it would go faster while the Slinky is stretched out? I agree with the longitudinal waves.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think the waves would go faster if the slinky was closer together.
