\[\log_{5}b+\log_{5}8 \]

\(\sf log_a ~x+ log_a ~y= log_a ~xy \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its log5 8b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did he have something to do?

geerky42 (geerky42):

If you can't customize base in calculator; you just put in calculator \(\dfrac{\log (a)}{\log(b)}\) to calculate \(\log_b(a)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm using wolfram

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I got it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geerky42 (geerky42):

Just type "log base b a"
