It's actually B that is correct. Semicolons ( ; ) are used when the first part of a sentence can be a sentence on its own. Here's an example: "She told me she was very upset; her father died yesterday." Both parts of this sentence could be full sentences on their own. "After we arrived home" is not a full sentence, so it would not have a semicolon after it.
