How do you solve compound events?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A compound event is the probability of 2 simple events. e.g. flipping a coin and getting heads 4 times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To solve them, all you have to do is consider the cases.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You multiply all of the possible outcomes for each simple event together

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for the coin problem, we have 2 choices for each event: heads or tails. We flip the coin 4 times, so the answer is 2*2*2*2 or 16
