Suggestion - I think that The Music section should have titles bought with smartcents.

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

@pooja195 @e.mccormick @EclipsedStar @savanahdawson @Tony00075309aabbc

OpenStudy (igreen):

Titles aren't really needed for the Music section. For one thing, it's not really an active group, so it would be hard to get titles anyhow.

OpenStudy (igreen):

We have titles for the most popular groups on OS, Music isn't one of them.

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

@iGreen @jagr2713 @TheSmartOne @sleepyjess @Nahstya @bohotness

pooja195 (pooja195):

May i know what exactly people would be getting a medal for? Im thinking for other peoples work .-. Posting a YouTube video doesnt deserve a titles or any medals :P

pooja195 (pooja195):

And is thats so the every subject should have titles right? Kinda makes no sense -.- some subjects are dead and music section is not popular

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

How about a tittle that could be used in every subject? Maybe if you get like 1000 medals overall you could buy a title that seen in every subject.

OpenStudy (igreen):

@Joel_the_boss That's not very accurate..it's kind of like the SmartScore..if everyone sees that you're 99 and in a subject they need help in, and you're not good in it, they tag you because they think you're good in it.

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

That's true. :) @iGreen

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think we really need titles for music.

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

I think we should have one like lets say (as an example) we get 20 medals. I think we should get a title like Music master or whatever you want to call it.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

shifuyanli... So you are not bach-ing at this idea?

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Also, I don't see someone getting 3,000 medals in Music anytime soon...lol

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

WHAT?!?!?! MUSIC REQUIRES U TO KNOW MATH AND HOW TO READ AND WRITE! IT IS EDUCATIONAL! i am sry for that outrage, but I hate when ppl say it isn't educational. Studies have shown that whenever ppl fal math, and they join band, their grades go up from an f to at least a B, and there are a lot of things to memorize, such as scales, marching techniques, and others, so @EclipsedStar IM SORRY FOR YELLING BUT NEVER EEEEEVVVVVEEERRR TELL ME MUSIC IS NOT EDUCATIONAL!

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I didn't say that music wasn't thoroughly educational...lol I just said that it was "somewhat non-educative" because from my experience the Music subject was mainly on sharing song lyrics, a person's singing, etc.

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

nope. That isn't music at all, that is ppl sharing their songs online. MUSIC ITSELF IS VERY EDUCATIONAL! To sing, you need to learn the octaves and do research on techniques. For instruments, playing notes is very mathematical, and time signatures. and on OS, the music section allows that because it deals with music, and it also deals with music theory witch is actually one of the most educational features of music, becasue your usally doin work out of a textbook.

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

@EclipsedStar

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

I meant in the \(Music\) section itself. You misunderstood.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

Sorry if my wording wasn't the best. :P

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

I KNOW and thats why i wrote the last part cause the music section was (Apparantly) meant for music theory. and posting song lyrics is educational, becasue writing a song or rap can be described as language arts. and Im sorry i keep gettin mad, but music is a big part of my life, and I don't like it whenever ppl say certain things about it.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, we try to moderate it to keep down on the spam of people promoting themselves and not giving proper critiques, but yes, there is a large problem with people using it for non-educational music related things.

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

@e.mccormick i agree, and sry if i argued and wasn't supposed to it just affects me a lot.

eclipsedstar (eclipsedstar):

XD Well then, the music section should only be for music theory then...that subject gets abused with rap battles, copyright violations, etc.

OpenStudy (thepotatoking81):

actually, i kind of agree with rap battles, because without some form of competition, humans are almost nothing, but i also kind of don't becasue of cusing and bullying through raps, and also im makin a new post for this suggestion cause it takes forever to bump.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

No, restricting it to theory is not a good solution. It does not teach people how to do a proper critique. And the, "I like it!" comments do not help a person develop skill. Very few of the people posting songs are actually taking the time to learn the process and get better at it. They just toss out more and more low quality stuff that people praise and there is no growth. This is as much a problem of the replies as anything else and it is evident when there is mass tagging that the "artist" is only interested in this false praise than in said development and growth. There are also all the people that think the OS language rules should not apply in music. That is not going to happen. If people need to rely on explicit lyrics then they really have not developed the skills yet. Additionally, it is not a pop culture promotion site so there is even less need for relying on tricks such as vulgarity.

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Who knows, maybe sometime they'll make titles for music. All I know is, that they're always thinking about title names for different subjects :P
