OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

The Chinese Exclusion Act stopped Chinese immigration for 10 years. Hatred of Chinese was high. The Knights of Labor lead the hatred of Chinese because they worked for less pay. The KoL chapter in Rock Springs WY was responsible in part for the massacre of Chinese workers by white workers. The massacre increased hatred of Chinese-Americans. Things got very violent in Washington Territory around Puget Sound, where a lot of Chinese-Americans lived.
