Factors in the development of the cold war were? A) an arms race between the Soviet Union and the United States. B)Chinese Socialists taking control of the government in China. C)an alliance between the S.U., Belgium,France, and portugal D)the building of a wall to divide Poland into.

Well, Mao's Communists took over mainland China (the Nationalists were driven to Taiwan). There was a wall, but it wasn't to divide Poland (that's the Berlin Wall which divided that particular city). And there was an alliance, but it involved more than those particular nations. But one of the biggest factors in the Cold War was the arms race between the USSR and the United States, especially when it came to nuclear weapons. Soon, both countries would have thousands of warheads apiece, more than enough to blow up the world several times over because of this race. So (A) makes the most sense to me.

Thank you. That was the answer I took also.
