If you want, you can do this at home. It can be pretty fun. Take a pen and make some marks on a stiff piece of paper, near the bottom. Then, place this piece of paper in a glass and add a small amount of acetone (fingernail polish remover). Use 100% acetone. You want to have enough acetone to get near the ink, but not touch the ink. Cover and let sit. Your ink will separate out into the different colors.
