Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage on March 29, 1951, and were executed June 19, 1953. They were accused of passing information on the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union. In Britain there was the Portland Spy Ring which included Peter & Helen Kroger (Real name Cohen) They were exchanged for a captured British agent in Russia.
