OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is this question highlighted

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cause im special

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah that too

OpenStudy (turingtest):

pick a point like that at (-4,1) how many steps on the x-axis is it from the next such point? that is the period

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the period is 4

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Well, Amplitude is the height from the center line to the peak (or to the trough). Or we can measure the height from highest to lowest points and divide that by 2.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

When they mean periodic function, it just means that it repeats itself. So, the period is length of the smallest interval that contains exactly one copy of the repeating pattern

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in english please :P

OpenStudy (abb0t):

the amp is -4. while the period is 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (turingtest):

Pretty sure the period wasn't 2 for this. Oh well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think it is?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

I think you were were right the first time when you said 4

OpenStudy (turingtest):

a period is a complete cycle the pattern repeats every 4 spaces on the x-axis, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@abb0t the answer was A.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Ah. Right. Nice job.
