Fan & medal one question... Please help. State the various transformations applied to the base function ƒ(x) = |x| to obtain a graph of the function g(x) = 4 [|x-3|-6].
These are the answer choices A. Horizontal shift of 12 units to the right, a vertical shift downward of 24 units, and a vertical stretch by a factor of 4. B. Horizontal shift of 3 units to the right, a vertical shift downward of 24 units, and a vertical stretch by a factor of 4. C. Horizontal shift of 3 units to the left, a vertical shift upward of 24 units, and a vertical stretch by a factor of 4. D. Horizontal shift of 3 units to the left, a vertical shift downward of 24 units, and a vertical stretch by a factor of 4.
hey use this site insert g(x) = 4 [|x-3|-6] inside the mathway.com box and click rule function and it will give you the answer
All the answer choices say 24 shifts down, not 6??? Also, I tried doing it on mathway, it gave me a blank graph. ;-;
oh i see we distribute the 4 first
distribute the 4 to get...|dw:1430488858015:dw| So that is a vertical stretch by applying a factor of 4
