OpenStudy (znappydooz):

I need some Geometry help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this a test?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

the volume of a cylinder = pi r^2 h volume of a cone = (1/3) pi r^2 h

OpenStudy (welshfella):

Hint: the height h and radius r of the cylinder and the cone are the same

OpenStudy (znappydooz):

Could you help me with the first one? I'm a bit confused...

OpenStudy (welshfella):

this is the one i'm doing look at the 2 formulas for the cone and cylinder if r and h are the same what can we say about the volume of the cone in relation to volume of the cylinder?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

what fraction of the volume of cylinder is the cone?

OpenStudy (znappydooz):

(1/3) pi r^2 h = 24 Am I right?

OpenStudy (znappydooz):

(1/3) * 3.14 * r^2 * h = 24?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

no - 24 is the volume of the cylinder the cone is 1/3 of this

OpenStudy (welshfella):

volume of cone = 1/3 of volume of the cylinder
