besides reading all the irrelevant critera, i think you are being asked to compute the number of ways to choose 5 items from a set of 10 called "ten choose five" and written as \[\binom{10}{5}\] or\[_{10}C_5\]or even \[^{10}C_5\]

I do a lot of C(n,r) for combination or P(n,r) for permutation.

it is not hard to compute, but i would use a calculator http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=10+choose+5

depend on whether you think order matters or not i would say not, but i would not bet on it

how would I simplify the formula it has to be a direct answer would it be 10*9*8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1*5*4*3*2*1?

When I use the calculator you provided it gives me answer I am not studying. I don't recognize the formulas they use.
