Can someone describe mitosis and meiosis?

Well in simple terms mitosis is the division of the body's cells and meiosis is the production of gametes or sex cells. There are two divisions of meiosis and it produces 4 gametes. There is one division of mitosis and produces 2 cells. I am not sure how in-depth you want it to be.
