We know of species that are no longer living because we have observations. written records. fossil evidence. we do not know this @dtan5457

I think it's fossil evidence because they are formed undeground million of years ago where as the bones of animals died million of years ago are changed into raw materials which can be converted into fossil fuel :)
i agree with Syed :) If you think about it right.. fossils are the PRESERVED remains, traces or imprints of dead organisms. So yah :)
For example, dinosaurs! We've found fossil evidence that prove that they once existed right?
Yup :)
This is a horrible question. Written records are also highly important in telling if species have gone extinct within the last 2,000 years or so. Written records allow us to know things like when the last known sighting of a species was. Fossil records is probably the desired answer. @syedmohammed98 Once again you are giving direct answers. Also, fossil fuels comes from plant material not animal material.
