Help with multiplying vectors

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

v= 9i-5j, find -2||v||^2

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

sqrt((9)^2+(-5)^2) sqrt106 106*-2= -212

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

\[||v||=\sqrt{(9)^2+(-5)^2}\]

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

\[||v||^2 = \left( \sqrt{(9)^2+(-5)^2} \right)^2 = \left( \sqrt{81+25} \right)^2 = \left( \sqrt{106} \right)^2 = 106\]

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

\[-2 \times 106 = -212\]

OpenStudy (astrophysics):

Good :)

OpenStudy (darkbluechocobo):

Thank you for checking :D
