So for a physics lab I have to explain the concept that cart A is connected to cart B by a string (tension) and cart B has a string on a pulley and attached with a 100g mass. Cart A is held and then released. When Cart A has more weight on the cart the force is greater but i dont know how to explain it. Is it because the greater weight creates a bigger tension between cart A and B then if there was more weight on B?

OpenStudy (shamim):

I think u know abt frictional force

OpenStudy (shamim):

Anyway can u draw it?

OpenStudy (shamim):

More weight on the object A creats more frictional force on the object A

OpenStudy (shamim):

More tfriction means more tension

and in this lab we werent considering friction force. I think we were just focusing strictly on tension
