no....let me show you. I will do one for you..then you can do the other one.

step 1 : take the whole number and multiply it by the denominator
1 * 4 = 4
step 2 : add that number to the numerator
4 + 1 = 5
step 3 : now put that number over your original denominator
5/4

so 1 1/4 = 5/4
