The slope of a line is -1/3. Find the slope of a line that is perpendicular to this line.

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

if you are looking for a perpendicular line, you need the negative reciprocal slope. To find the negative reciprocal, you must " flip " the slope and change the sign. Example : 2/3....negative reciprocal is -3/2 (see how I flipped the slope and changed the sign) So what is the negative reciprocal of -1/3 --- flip the slope and change the sign and what do you get ?
