Fan and Medal Which transformations will produce similar, but not congruent, figures? A. Triangle PQR is reflected across the x-axis and then rotated 90° clockwise to form triangle PꞌꞌQꞌꞌRꞌꞌ. B. Triangle PQR is reflected across the y-axis and then dilated by a scale factor of 6 to form triangle PꞌꞌQꞌꞌRꞌꞌ. C. Triangle PQR is rotated 180° counterclockwise and then translated 11 units left to form triangle PꞌꞌQꞌꞌRꞌꞌ. D. Triangle PQR is rotated 90° clockwise and then reflected across the y-axis to form triangle PꞌꞌQꞌꞌRꞌꞌ.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Remember, for something to not be congruent, a change in size would be involved. Therefore, there would have to be a dilation of shrink of some kind.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

The option that has this is your answer.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

@SarahMotionless does that make sense?|dw:1430746517388:dw|

Yes hold up let me work it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B?

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Remember, rotations, translations, and reflections have NO effect on size

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

B is correct! nice work :)
