HELP If |a| = 9, then which are the possible values of a? A. 9 only B. –9 only C. –9 or 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dun understand how to do this

|dw:1430750832312:dw| so basically absolute value is figuring out how far a number is away from zero no matter where you are on a number line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Example "6" is 6 away from zero, but "−6" is also 6 away from zero. So the absolute value of 6 is 6, and the absolute value of −6 is also 6.

oh ok
