Well, diction is the word choice or words used by the author. Certain words evoke certain feelings, so if a author uses cheerful words, the mood or tone will be happy.
OpenStudy (love_ranaa):
Word choices also tells you how and author feels about a character. If they describe the character as like a thief of greedy, they may not see them as a good character :) Just examples ..
