OpenStudy (drakedoesmc):

Suppose you put your fingers in you mouth without washing your hands. What is one of the first lines of defense against any pathogens that you might swallow?

OpenStudy (drakedoesmc):

I said white blood cells can I get some feedback

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, white blood cells, but don’t forget antibodies. All in all, the immune system is the first line of defense, and it consists of white blood cells, antibodies, stem cells, as well as immune organs including the tonsils, lymph nodes, appendix, bone marrow, Peyer’s patches, lymphatic vessels, and the spleen. The second line of defense is the integumentary system, which is responsible for your hair, skin, and nails, and is essentially the first to be in contact with any pathogens.
