allies were the counties which fought in the defence of neutral Belgium- which had been invaded by the Germans (part of Shlieffen Plan) central powers were the "official bad guys" and called so because their position was in the centre of Europe and Asia minor everyone cooperated. For example during the Gallipoli campaign the Germans and Austrians sent fighter and recon planes to scout for the Turks
