PLEASE HELP WILL MEDAL AND FAN!! In the first stanza of "Life," how does Lowell's symbolic use of the word night affect the poem? A. It calls to mind images of the natural world, which is the subject of this poem. B. It creates the poem's unique rhythm and meter. C. It helps give the poem its serious and solemn tone. D. It reminds readers that the speaker has more experience with death than they do.
I read this.. Lowell uses varied types of rhyme scheme in this poem. There is end rhyme (where write rhymes with night) and there is internal rhyme ("But for a line, be that sublime") too. He utilizes figurative language in the use of a metaphor in the first line. In comparing life to a lead of white paper, he says that one writes their own story on these pages.
it would be nice if you gave me the text so I can tell you the answer....
