Are you allowed to give the answer with an explanation on Qualified Helper Questions?

I think the main point is to provide satisfaction. And understanding how to do math provides more satisfaction than just plain answers. Different people have different needs. Go figure.

I think a QH question should abide by the rules and every asker should know about the DA rules.

I don't care if they paid for it, the rule still applies.

OS should have told them(if they didn't already) that they need to participate with the person who is answering if they wish to receive the answer. Otherwise, they're wasting their money.

Well then again, a Qualified Helper Question is meant for a Qualified Helper to answer... if non-QH's answer it, that defeats the purpose of it. They paid for QH Help and if they don't recieve it since everyone just helped them out, they didn't get what they paid for and they'll want a refund and that will add to the hassle of the QH team to look into their claim and give a refund, etc. And since everyone else jumps on the QH post and is trying to help before the QH arrives to helps them, it seems like the QH wants to make sure that they can contribute to the post and so that way the asker got help from a QH and it was worth his money. And so it's a tough competition with the QH trying to help while others are trying to help and so people give answers. :P

I believe there has been a QH who is negating such "direct answer" rule and it has been causing some dispute :/ ...

jay, from what I understand of the current QH Math selection process. QH helpers need *at least* a solid knowledge in Calc 1 if not 2
