OpenStudy (hysusonic):

do you know the formula for area?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you?

OpenStudy (hysusonic):

yup... here's a website that will help with this http://www.mathgoodies.com/lessons/vol1/area_triangle.HTML

OpenStudy (freckles):

@pikapow have you found the height of the triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no.

OpenStudy (freckles):

well you will need the height and the base length of the triangle to input into the formula given by @hysusonic

OpenStudy (hysusonic):

yay i do some good

OpenStudy (freckles):

you are given the base length since you know you have an equilateral triangle and you are given one leg length since it is a equilateral triangle all legs of the triangle are equal now the height is just what you need and you will be ready to plug in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I read the formula, I just haven't done the math yet

OpenStudy (freckles):

|dw:1430777808188:dw| you can find h (the height of the triangle ) using Pythagorean theorem
