(3 points) High-paying jobs and affordable housing were available in Eastern cities. Irish immigrants wanted to remain as geographically close to Ireland as possible. Eastern cities had abundant unskilled labor jobs and well-established Irish communities. Other parts of the country had severe restrictions on housing and hiring recent immigrants.

Well, when you consider that at that point in time, America had developed mainly on the east coast, and the Irish came to America on the east, it would likely have been the third possible answer.
