this looks so easy but i keep getting it wrong

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

distibute the - through the parentheses

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be -5 and -8x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@acxbox22

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

yes so x+6x-5-8x=158 now combine like terms and solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so -x-5= 158 add 5 on both sides and you'll get -x=163 divide by 1 and get x = 163?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what i have been doing wrong i didnt distribute thank you so much !!

OpenStudy (acxbox22):
