math problem HELp plZ :p
what do you think? :)
Can you see a common trend between the x and y values? For e.g. What do you multiply x by to get y? So in the first row, when x = 2, y = 5 . Therefore what did you multiply 2 by to get 5? (5 divided by 2 equals to?) In the second row, when x = 6, y = 15. What do you multiply 6 by to get 15? (15 divided by 6 equals to?) In the third row, when x = 18, y = 45. What do you multiply 18 by to get 45? (45 divided by 18 equals to?)
are you guessing? lol. what does 5 divided by 2 equal to?
5 times 2 = 10 5 divided by 2 = 2.5
So now that we know 5 divided by 2 = 2.5 When x = 2 , y = 5. So, y = 2.5x Next, 15 divided by 6 also equals to 2.5 When x = 6 , y = 15 Again y = 2.5x Lastly, 45 divided by 18 equals to 2.5 When x = 18 , y = 45. We have the same relationship y = 2.5x Therefore since they all follow the same trend, we can say that y varies directly with x.
=2.5 x (C)
yes. C is correct.
