HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Just replace the values with what you're given

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

if 1=5 and r=7, then.... 5(2+7)-4(7)+1

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

from here, just multiply into the parentheses (or distribute), and evaluate the expression.

OpenStudy (jacobbenvenutty):

First add within the parentheses then you can multiply

OpenStudy (cookie_2046):

18

OpenStudy (cookie_2046):

correct?

OpenStudy (jacobbenvenutty):

I got something different

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

not quite...

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

you're very close, however.

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Check your calculations carefully

OpenStudy (igreen):

??? 18 is correct..

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(\sf 5(2 + 7) - 4(7) + 1\) \(\sf 5(9) - 28 + 1\) \(\sf 45 - 28 + 1\) \(\sf 17 + 1\) \(\sf 18\)

OpenStudy (cookie_2046):

i keep getting 18

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

5(2+7)-4(7)+1 5(9) -28+1 45-28+1 45-27 =18 oops lol I see what i did wrong...28 seems correct

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

I thought that 28 was positive, so I added the one to that and subtracted 29 from 45 instead of 27. You guys are correct, I apologize for my hasty calculations lol v.v

OpenStudy (jacobbenvenutty):

5(2+7)-4(7)+1 add within parentheses 5(9) - 4(7)+1 Multiply 45 - 28+1 subtract 17+1=18 You were correct. I messed up during the 45-28+1, and added before i subtracted

OpenStudy (cookie_2046):

then 18! :)

OpenStudy (jacobbenvenutty):

lol yes

HanAkoSolo (jamierox4ev3r):

Yeah aha
